Attend Anywhere website for video consultations
What is Attend Anywhere?
Attend Anywhere is a website used to connect clinicians and patients via video. This would occur instead of a face-to-face appointment, saving travel time and reducing the inconvenience of attending an appointment. This would require you to have access to a smart phone or computer with a webcam and also to have a good internet connection.
Who can attend/receive the service?
During the Coronavirus outbreak some services may not be offering face to face appointments. Your clinician will discuss the option of having your consultation via video if it is suitable for your care. This is generally the case where:
- A physical examination or test is not needed
- A patient is travelling long distances to attend their appointments
- A patient needs regular scheduled care that is disruptive to everyday life
- Where it might be useful to see the patient’s home environment or their at-home medical devices
- Where a patient is unable to attend an appointment due to a physical or mental health condition.
How does the service work?
If you agree to having your appointments via video, you will receive reminders for these appointments via text message or letter. This will contain the link to your virtual waiting room on Attend Anywhere, along with joining instructions.
When it is time for your appointment, click the link and please be careful to go to the correct website address, to avoid entering the wrong site. After you click the 'start video call' button, you will be asked to input your name, date of birth, and a contact phone number. You will NOT be asked to input any other information.
How is my data used?
No part of the Attend Anywhere online video consultation will be physically recorded or otherwise permanently digitally stored. The outcomes of the consultation will be documented and stored as a permanent part of your patient record held by First Community Health and Care. This happens in the same way as for face to face or telephone consultations. Some personal information is stored locally on the computer being used and you need to be aware of this particularly if you will be using a public or shared computer. If you are receiving a video call on a mobile phone this is only as secure as any other phone call on that mobile network.
If you have any questions or queries, please contact your clinician
