What happens when you see a dietitian in clinic?
- One of the first steps is to ask you about your usual eating patterns and diet.
- It would be useful to bring to your appointment a record of what you have eaten for the last four days. Click on this link to download a 4 day food diary.
- Based on the foods listed and your eating habits your Dietitian can then advise on a dietary approach suitable to your condition.
- You will generally be provided with relevant literature to support the advice given.
We will aim to provide you with tailored advice that is specific, realistic and achievable.
How long will my appointment be?
Your first appointment will last for 30 - 45 minutes and subsequent appointments (if necessary) will last for approximately 30 minutes.
What to expect at a community visit
If you are unable to attend a clinic because you are housebound we may be able to visit you at home. An appointment will be agreed at a time that suits you and the consultation will be similar to that described above.
