Staying Steady programme helps keep older people on their feet

First Community, along with other local organisations, is running a half-day programme at YMCA Sovereign Centre on Wednesday 7 November from 10am to 12.45pm for people in east Surrey at risk of falling. People interested in attending can self-refer or GPs and other clinicians can refer patients to the programme. There are 15 spaces available.

The programme will cover practical advice on what people can do to prevent falling, particularly as they get older. There will be input from physiotherapists, dietetians, pharmacists as well as other professionals.

The programme is for anyone registered with an east Surrey GP. It is aimed at people who have recently fallen or who have a fear of falling.

To book a space by phoning the First Community Falls Prevention team on 01737 775474 or email fchc.falls-service@nhs.net  with the person’s name, address and telephone number.

Thanks to East Surrey YMCA for supporting the programme.
